The E-identification of Evrotrust Announced Compliant

The remote e-identification of Evrotrust has been officially recognized as a compliant anti-money laundering method by a new Directive.

The remote identification system, developed by Evrotrust, has been officially announced fully compliant by the new Directive (EU) 2018/843 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 30 May 2018 amending Directive (EU) 2015/849 on the prevention of the use of the financial system for the purposes of money laundering or terrorist financing, and amending Directives 2009/138/EC and 2013/36/EU. The amendment will enter in force in few days - on 09.07.2018. Identifying the customer and verifying the customer’s identity can be made “on the basis of documents, data or information obtained from a reliable and independent source, including, where available, electronic identification means, relevant trust services as set out in Regulation (EU) No 910/2014 of the European Parliament and of the Council or any other secure, remote or electronic identification process regulated, recognised, approved or accepted by the relevant national authorities” (Article 13 (1) of the Directive). Evrotrust has developed such a solution. The system can be used for remote on-boarding of clients by banks, insurance companies, non-banking financial institutions and others, which are obliged to identify their customers as a anti-money laundering measure, directly from the mobile phone at any time and from any place.
